It's something you prepare for. You know it's coming. It's rather like a hurricane, something you batton down the hatches for, lock the doors, enhance the wards.
However, there's sometimes little differences than practice compared to actually experiancing it. You can know about it all you want, but unknown factors can come into play and flip the chessboard away and scatter the pieces to the wind.
Continuing the analogy, this mixes the pieces with the other games. Some might land in the Chinese Checkers, others may land in the monopoly box. And still others elsewhere.
Of course, those that were closest together tend to stay together. The Queen, the King, and the Rook, on one side, for example, can all land on a different world entirely.
One that's a lesser path of resistance, but not the least.
This was to say, that Altalita's shop merely appeared on the world known as Hollow Bastion--or as it was in the past, and more recently, Radiant Garden. It took over an empty lot, as if it had always been there. And why not? Hadn't it always been there?
Of course, the "Pieces" themselves don't come through unscathed. Altalita herself is younger. Ten years old at best. Short and teeny, pale, and possessing the longest and best black hair ever.
Then, we take Li. Oh, gods. Now that's going to be complicated...
